Cap in checked yellow linen/cotton Kelsch cloth with a sharp cut brim. Features four darts around the head and a circle insert on top give shape to this fully lined cap.

Kelsch fabrics were initially hand-woven by rural farmer families and the different patterns of this traditional fabric represented the respective family affiliation. Nowadays this cultural gift has almost been forgotten, and there are only a few weaving mills left in the Alsace region.

Each garment comes as part of a hand-numbered edition.

Materials are sourced from artisan textile mills and sometimes developed in collaboration with them. An important part ofUnkruid’sfabric research focuses on the process of ageing through wear and washing. Their design philosophy and fabric selection celebrates nostalgic pastoral sentiments as well as contemporary technical sensibilities.
